78. Morgan Jay - The Goofy Guy Tour Live

Thanks to @lilacanimerevue.bsky.social for encouraging me to do a fun little date night this weekend. Live musical comedy crowd improv work with some catchy tunes and really good live bits with the crowd. Very good crowd, had a ton of fun!

77. Dealing with Mikadono Sisters is a Breeze (1/2)

As far as romcoms go, this one is definitely one of those ones where on the surface, it doesn't seem distinct or different from most of them, but this one just feels like it got the recipe just right and goes down real easy. Also tastes great too!

76. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

It's been years since I watched Fury Road but even with the caution about prequel stories now this was a great time. Absolutely insane action, and incredible performances throughout (Chris Hemsworth holy fuck). Glad I watched, hoping George Miller can still do Mad Max.

75. Pee Wee As Himself

A fascinating look into Paul Reubens as a person and performer, and the creative ambitions and choices he made throughout his life. Fascinating, unique, and so bitter sweet. A character performer unlike any I've ever seen. And one who will be dearly missed.

Just got back home from the craziest trip of my life. Two whole weeks in Japan with the love of my life @lilacanimerevue.bsky.social. Today marks 7 years since we have been dating I wanted to share that now she is no longer my girlfriend. She's my fiance!

I love you so much Stephanie.

74. The Studio

Watched an entire season on the plane to Japan. Incredibly well made, pretty creative comedy about the conflict between loving movies and running a movie studio. Incredible performances, expertly shot, and frankly hilarious. "Casting" was probably my favorite episode of the bunch.

73. The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!

This was a very cozy little show to rewatch. Not the most laugh out loud comedy in the world, but I enjoy this goofy ensemble of characters doing their best trying to survive poverty and chaos in the human realm. Saruva is best girl she deserves good things.

72. Takopi's Original Sin

God what an incredible adaptation of an already gut wrenching story. A story that is as much about cruelty as it is empathy and understanding the moral contradictions of humanity. And it's all wrapped in a neat little happy ribbon by a little octopus trying his best.

71. Aharen-san wa Hakarenai - Season 2

God what a funny, silly little series this is. But oh my god Aharen-san just makes me feel warm and fuzzy in a very specific way. Most rom-coms WISH they had a couple that matched each other's freak the way Raido and Reina Aharen do. Gonna miss these kids.

70. Kaiju No. 8 - Season 2

What a bizarre choice to end your season off right in the middle of all the action like that. Still, always a good time, definitely liked the Reno / Iharu all of the homo story arc and getting to see just how far Kikoru has grown as a character too. Narumi's also great.

69. Flow

What a genuinely impressive little film. I had heard good things but I was not expecting Homeward Bound meets Noah's Ark. So much character and personality conveyed in all these animals who say not a word. Charming, creative, stunning and kind of a marvelous animation feat. Great movie.

68. Resident Evil 2 Remake - Claire 2nd Story

God I think I realized I had way more fun playing this game than I expected, even better on its 2nd run to get the true end. Game feels great, puzzles and gunplay rules, and Claire's a pretty charming protagonist too. Grenade Launcher my beloved.

Certainly no shame in that, and I can and do respect the choice. Just means that we gotta get creative for @dubtalkpodcast.bsky.social when we do add headshots for our yearly awards.

You're a fantastic actor, and an even better cookie too if I do say so myself!

67. Django Unchained

This is a very cathartic film to watch in modern day lemme tell ya. A wild journey from beginning to end ending in an explosive climax. Obvs Leo gets plenty of flowers but Christoph Waltz as King is equally as memorable. Western grindhouse Tarantino violence. Great movie.

66. Martian Successor Nadesico (1/2)

Got recommended this from a discord friend and this was an absolutely insane show start to finish. It's like what if Gundam, Mazinger Z, and Macross all got together and threw in all the things people love about their blends of mecha anime into one show.

65. CITY The Animation (1/2)

To say that this anime was magical is kind of an understatement. The collaboration between KyoAni and Keichi Arawi's CITY manga is legitimately one of the most inspiring, frankly hopeful productions in the Japanese animation industry I've seen in a long time.

64. There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover! Unless... (1/2)

Sometimes the show you pick up on a whim ends up surprising you. I was curious about this one but was told it might be a little bit dubious with its romance at the start. Won't deny that, but was surprised how much I enjoyed it overall

63. Ginger Root - The Wheel Tour NYC

Absolutely incredible live concert I went to with my buddy @amonduulus.bsky.social. Two Sets, one of Shinbangumi Live, and another decided by THE WHEEL. Incredible energy, awesome performers. Vibe was like 90% indie music club, 10% anime con party. I loved it!

62. Netoge: And you thought there is never a girl online?

What a strange trip down memory lane. A show that's simultaneously both better and worse than I remembered. Surprisingly funny little show about online MMOs. Ako the poster girl legit is the worst part but this was more fun than remembered.

Without any shred of irony here, these are sound, logical and empathetic considerations and contributions he has made to her career. Actually good signs of a leader.
