Multiply this over hundreds of other contractors, with thousands of civilian employees that are experiencing the same sudden contraction of funds and we're headed for really tough times. So buckle up buttercups, it's going to be a bumpy ride. /end

I have already heard anecdotally of many, many smaller consulting companies with contracts that were suddenly cancelled that have not been able to make payroll and have either closed or severely cut-back. /5

...essentially stop spending money now. This represents hundreds plane trips that will not be taken, hundreds of hotel stays in cities near you that will not occur, meals that will not be eaten in your local restaurants, swag that will not be purchased, etc., etc., etc. /4

They have been very quiet about the effects of the federal workforce cuts. Yesterday, we got an directive from the Top to curtail all un-authorized travel, non-business related expenditure (team meals out, office parties, etc.), no conferences or external training - /3
