Unfortunately, many academic presses (even big-name ones) are just as bad. If they’re not using AI, they are often using badly paid and / or non-native speakers who don’t know how to properly edit.

Cutting it up (after printing) and sticking it together again is still the BEST way to see structure. Trying to figure it out on a screen is just not the same.
