In 2020, I read a news story about this boy - Carlo Acutis - being beatified. It fascinated me so much that I wrote a novel about the strange and disturbing world of conteporary saintmaking. Yesterday, the Vatican announced that Carlo will be beatified THE SAME week my book comes out. Like, what??
