I've been quiet on the SocMeds for a bit, quiet in my art practice too. I did this piece a few weeks ago (for Moonshine 2025, Effy Wild's art witchery course). I love her, but she's a bit too neat for me; I like grungy, messy, painterly. But, she's how she wanted to be and that's that lol.
This image shows a painting I recently did. A stylized portrait of a woman. The colours are bold and vibrant. She has purple hair flowing upwards and a matching purple top to balance the piece. Her eyes are violet to match. She has three yellow sunflowers around her, one in her hair, one on her shoulder and a third in the background beside her. The background is turquoise and she has a turquoise band around the neckline of her top. This style is very neat and clean and not my usual style. In the image there are also some art supplies shown.

Pulled the "sovereign" card from a prompt deck. Took 5 mins free writing then went to my mini Goddess art journal. Bear showed up, which for me is always a connection to the Bear Goddess Artio.

Yesterday, my witchy walk with @legoblingorlarts.bsky.social had us admiring pink blossoms on the way to the village and chatting with Robins in the cemetery. Today they are in my mini Nature Goddess art journal.

Yes, screen readers can struggle with all-lowercase hashtags because they lack spaces to indicate word boundaries, leading to them being read as a single, long word. Capitalizing the first letter of each word (CamelCase) makes hashtags more accessible and easier for screen readers to interpret.

Yesterday, on my walk up to the village, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, the birds were singing and the butterflies were dancing. It was nice to see an Orange Tip and Brimstone, don't see them often.

I've always loved #doodling, and other types of #mindfulart such as mandalas and dot painting. In 2021 I was introduced to #neurographicart.

The start of a piece of neurographic art. A central bubble of muted blue watercolour on a white background with three smaller bubbles placed around it. Also in the image are the art supplies I'm using, a pencil, a blending stump, a watercolour paint brush and a palette with blue watercolour paints The next step in the neurographic art piece. Using a sharpie marker and a variety of fine-liner pens I drew multiple wavy lines from one edge of the paper to another, the lines intersect and pass through the bubbles. The final piece. I got into the flow and don't have any more progress pictures. I continued with the fine-liner pens and the sharpie, filling in areas where lines intersected. The resulting shapes are pebble like. I painted some of the pebbles using soft muted tones in grey, blue, green and purple.

Mini art journal spread. A quirky, semi-abstract spirit owl sits on the right hand page of the journal. Lots of collage papers, mark making, leafy doodles and scribbled journal writing grow out from her and surround her. A mostly white colour with patches of grey, dirty yellow ochre and and a pop of burnt orange around the owl and to the far left of the page for balance.
