Ever see lighting that just makes you pause and look in awe? And cameras don't really do it justice but you try to capture it anyway and greedily register it in your brain like the visual treat it is?

Another day, another pallette of very subtle changes in tone because I can't share the work itself.

Anyone else mix tiny puddles of paint as they go?

The Acrylic version is a cooler purple. His body is still fairly squat and round but his face is more in proportion with his body. His "horns" are shorter with green stripes. My toxic trait is mixing too much or too little or a colour, but never the right amount...
Glass palette covered in blobs of paint of various creams and browns. Some remixes of colours where the original ran out, some still full of piles of paint because too much was mixed.

I've played Demon Souls too much, I expected Phalanx, or at least a Hoplite behind a pillar.

Rijksmusuem Amsterdam has some amazing architecture. I'm a sucker for a vaulted ceiling, but wow!

Trying the inks / watercolour with salt and cling film texture technique I've seen online... Some people aim to convert them to stones but I can't bring myself to do that to the first trial page... It's too pretty... (Photos edited to try capture the colours I see irl)

Kinda nice to see Irish-Bluesky also can't sleep and is collectively up listening to Éowyn.

We're now without power (surprised it too til 3:30am tbh). We've got high winds but nothing like the coast...

Hope Ireland doesn't trampoline itself and wake up in France's backyard.

Last year I painted a small quick (for me...) test run of me in a small silver plated judge that used to be my Nana's.

And then completely got distracted before finishing the big version. Here's to 2025 being the year I finish it and move it off my easel!

Translated the back of a Campus note book I bought because I liked the Daruma doll design on it... (It's meant to be a exam notebook/gift for someone doing exams)

Such a sad but sweet message...

2/ Interestingly, visualising breath and trying to breathe have always been blue for me, so it makes sense this House floating in a unformed foggy void is too...

Although maybe also...
Edition notes from inside the full colour version of House of Leaves which highlights that throughout the text the word "house" will appear in blue.
