I work a lot, I write a bit and I read a lot. I live in Surrey, UK with my hubby. Life is good.
Thinking of my beloved Nana Betty, who passed away 2 years ago. She would have loved the VE Celebrations this weekend. This is the picture of her, aged 21 in 1946 - she gave it to her fiancé Jim before he went off to fight in the war. Sadly I never met my Granddad but I miss my Nana so very much ❤️

Lovely afternoon, evening, night spent at the neighbours (Friendbours? Neighfriends?) Lucky enough with the weather that we could sit in the garden from 1pm to 11.30pm but it got a bit chilly towards the end, despite the lovely firepit!

One whole year has passed since I've seen this beautiful little face. I still miss you every single day, my precious Little Darcy. 💔💔

I've just finished The Art of Hiding by @amandaprowse.bsky.social in just over one day and oh my goodness, it's another absolute corker. And I finished this one with a warm, happy smile rather than an ugly cry like the last one! I can't recommend these books highly enough. 📚

Post migraine Saturday chilling on the sofa, mustering the energy to go out for a walk. I hate my brain.

This afternoon I finished reading This One Life by the wonderful @amandaprowse.bsky.social. I certainly didn't expect it to make me ugly cry - such a moving and joyous book. Highly recommended. 📚 #IamReading

Set myself the challenge of reading 50 books this year. 20th Jan and I'm getting stuck into book 8. So far so good! 📚

We're very late to the Gangs of London series, but it's absolutely brilliant. But it's definitely not for you if you can't watch gratuitous violence. Honestly, it's quite an eye opener to see how many people can be hacked to pieces by a machete in just one hour.

When you're snuggled up in the dark watching a horror film, what you don't want is for the TV to decide to turn itself off, plunging you into total darkness. No power cut, just the TV. Turning itself off. Needless to say, we're watching the rest of the film with the light on 💡

Having a Bank Holiday on a Wednesday is just weird.

Well for me 2024 has been, for want of a better phrase, absolutely fucking awful. Let's hope 2025 brings better, more positive vibes for us all. Happy New Year to you all. ❤️ #HappyNewYear

Bloody hell, this Christopher Reeve documentary on Sky is a tough watch. But what an absolute hero he was - of course I love Henry Cavill, but Christopher Reeve will always be my #Superman

All last week, I was feeding my neighbour's cat, Indie. On Christmas Day, we walked and then took in our other neighbour's dog, Poppy for a few hours. And yesterday we walked our other neighbour's dog, Elsie. I love being an auntie to my neighbour's pets but I miss my own two doggos so, so much. 😞 💔

@reece-shearsmith.bsky.social Not sure how they made Norbot look like you, but they managed it! Very cute little fella (him. Not that you aren't cute 😬).

Honestly, this couple on Escape to the Country are looking to move from Twickenham to the Surrey Hills?? Are they taking the piss? This episode should be called Escape 5 Minutes Down the Road.
