Gentrification was always their goal, meant to increase the tax base and save the city. I deeply regret the small part I played, especially at Federal & North.

They formed NHS because they couldn't get loans from Banks due to being redlined. Their efforts spread to Chicago where Gale Cincotta got involved, resulting in landmark Community Reinvestment Act

She was also an important part of West Park Court, first senior building in the country to be owned and managed by a community group.

Northside has been supporting unhoused since forever, it's part of who we are. Would be great if adequate resources were provided since we know other neighborhoods & municipalities are willing to look away.
