Interesting to see how entertainment industries are tackling sensory-based sensitivities including intense smells and sounds. @aromaprime.bsky.social doing a great job as always with the various themed smellscapes! Examples from Alton Towers this weekend.

Back home after a brilliant day at York as part of their Public History Conference where I hosted a workshop on the ethics of using sensory technology in heritage, museums, and historical research. Many a smell was sniffed!

Very excited to be giving a Thackray Insights lecture on February 7 with the wonderful @victoriabates.bsky.social! Our event is titled 'The Sick Sense', and will centre on the significance of the senses and colour in experiences of illness and recovery.

As you can imagine, I’m overjoyed to have contributed to Thackray Museum of Medicine’s newest exhibition on POO! The highlight of my career will forever be my seeing my name hidden inside a toilet seat (right in the centre of the display, of course!).

Taken from my LinkedIn - I'm looking for opportunities to present my work to interdisciplinary, academic and non-academic audiences. I haven't seen my CFPs recently (probably due to my algorithm) and wondered whether anyone knew of any opportunities in the coming months. Please share! Thanks!

It was a pleasure to present some of my research on blood and identity at the @hematopolitics.bsky.social symposium last week. I reflected on my time working with people who have experienced blood cancer and the effect it has had on their sense of self. So many other great papers too!
