I’m not Deaf and don’t know ASL. There was nothing about me sitting in a wheelchair that screamed, “use ASL.”

My grandma also immigrated to the US from rural Ireland when she was 19 years old. She said that if she had stayed, she would have been “married off to some old coot.” Her mom, my great grandma, only lived into her early-mid 60s. Grandma said she died of exhaustion.

Non-disabled inventors: “We made a wheelchair that can go up stairs! It’s only $100,000 USD."

Actual wheelchair users: “Or, hear us out…install more ramps."

Lucky! I wasn't chosen for the Reunion Playtest, which I guess is a good thing because there was no controller support. I'd have a really hard time playing without my adaptive controller. (Honestly, I might have a hard time even with the adaptive controller. We'll see.
