Many readers will already be familiar with the way AIs work, and others will have read reporting on the events I describe. But I think most people don’t fully understand why the AI control problem is so urgent.

I know it’s long. It’s long because I wanted to show the full scope of this—not to drive home a point (although the details do demonstrate the enormity of the project) so much as to ensure readers understand all the details.
