I did perhaps bury the lede. Most of my writer friends are originally online friends from a now-defunct writing app called StoryCraft. User base was so small and tight-knit we all stayed in contact. Now we do physical get-togethers and hang out every day, so they’ve basically become IRL friends.

The League of Legends is very important because it provides a group bonding activity that is simultaneously so unenjoyable that writing actually seems like a fun alternative

I’ve never been able to join a Discord of strangers and be comfortable and I suck at using Blue Sky. The real trick is to slowly weasel your way into friendships with random people IRL who also happen to be writers and then add them all simultaneously to a Discord where you play League of Legends

I was booting up to play League once and had my first (and to this day only) seizure. I woke up on the floor in front of my computer to a paramedic loading me onto a stretcher and taking me to the hospital. I chose not to take the divine warning and continue playing League to this day.

I don’t lose anything because I can backlog my hours, but it was quite amusing to send a email like “hey boss did you MEAN to soft-launch firing me by having my access to our staff site revoked, or…”

Who is even benefiting from these administrative changes? I come from an affluent white family (hypothetically the target demographic the regime is trying to court) and all of our lives have gotten worse. And that’s even if we had total blinders on to the injustice and evil he inflicts on others.
