Book 8 was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson (narrated by Roger Wayne).
I mean, sure, there’s some good stuff in here. But it reeks of privilege. Turns out, one thing I don’t give a flying fruitcake about is this book.

It is. And for what it’s worth, I’m sorry for my snarky response.

The man who stole credit for DNA from a woman who worked for him and then went on a multi-decade rant about how some races are genetically destined to be less intelligent? That’s the guy you’re mourning?
a woman with curly hair says you serious on a netflix poster
Alt: a Black woman with a stunned face says ‘you serious?’ There’s a netflix logo.

Simply knowing that you can drink water with a bit of sugar and salt to rehydrate yourself is something shockingly recent in human history.

Anyways, that put me off it for eight years. Now I’m going private (before I lose my private health insurance).
I’m feeling good about it.
I’m really sorry you’re having to read your report with the wrong name, pronouns, and gender assumptions.

I tried once before. I went to my GP. She was incredibly condescending. She told me I was probably right but that she wouldn’t refer me because the NHS didn’t have capacity to help people like me. Also, I found out later that day that she was a massive TERF.

Book 6 was AI Snake Oil by Sayash Kapoor & Arvind Narayanan (narrated by Landon Woodson).
Interesting. I don’t think they spend enough time talking about the ethical side of things. But I suppose other books do that. Definitely worth a read, though.

I've already lived through this. The Tories merged with the Reform and then at the next election, an MP originally elected under Reform became Prime Minister. Don't let it happen again!
Don't believe me? Google Stephen Harper.
