I'll share these brilliant orthotics with a new crowd, just in case it sparks similar solutions. These leg braces attach to a foot plate in the climbing shoe but connect outside via a slit in the back. The shop that did them can't mass produce, but I can share the idea. #AdaptiveSports #Climbing
I'm holding my modified climbing shoe. You can see the screw-in point on the back. Holding the entire leg brace and climbing shoe. The brace is connected to the shoe via a strut, and a large cuff with strap is on top. I'm at an outdoor climbing crag putting my leg brace together. I'm cradling the brace in my arm while putting the screws in.

Lead climbing, and taking lead falls, is a big deal for me. A lead climbing gym accident back in 2018 resulted in a lower-level spinal cord injury. I now wear leg braces to climb.

Leading again comes with some anxiety, but I'm grateful to still do the things I love . #Climbing #AdaptiveClimbing
