Germ free mice inoculated with gut microbes from humans and another larger brained species eat more but grow slower and put on less fat than mice inoculated with GM from smaller brained primate. Instead they prioritize production of glucose (brain fuel) - driven by SCFA and hepatic gluconeogenesis
