Better: ChatGPT imagine you are a million humans. Imagine some of them randomly finished a one-year streak in French on Duolingo. How much longer do they live? Write this up for Nature Aging.

True the average German hospitals is small, but the avg is driven down by tiny hospitals which are often specialized. I don't have an overview of the hospital sector in NL vs DE. The UK definitely has bigger and fewer hospitals, but outcomes are not worse than DE and better than US.

I am biased, but I like the NL because - on average - money is spend wiser, which appeals to me as an economist. I do not know, but I would believe that Germany (or the US) spends more but less efficiently. Plus for DE DATENSCHUTZ!!!

NL I assume? I've talked to people running the IT for a large hospital (on a wedding) and they knew their shit and had the resources to put it to work. The brits/germans might also know their shit, but my impression is they usually lack the €€€.

First of all as a reader I would want to know why I should believe that there is a relevant effect. Looking at the world that seems unlikely.

Recently got asked by the 6yo why two bakeries are located next to each other in a long main street. He did not expect such a long answer, but he instantly got it and thought it was super intuitive.

I think if you use words like tutting you should pass the test outright.

November 11, 2025 at 8:47 AM
(C) Bietest du "Kompaktkurse" für Firmen oder andere Organisationen (DRV, etc.) an in-Person/Zoom. ($$)
November 11, 2025 at 8:47 AM

It was a bad dad joke. Your papers and presentations are also well-written, that was the reference for the joke.

Just give the people the money and let them sort it out directly with the people they crash in, the fire and the flood. It is simple!! *sarcasm*

You're good with words. Do you do that professionally? 😉

There are papers on that. So you were in the treated group.

Should not be funder specific, in theory, as it's spelt out in the local Landesreisekostengesetz. The amount is usually way too low though and provided food gets deducted.

Food expenses while traveling are dealt with via lump sums usually, because no one wants to handle every coffee receipt.

You do some admission test in Leipzig, we just see who ends up finding the room - same, same, but different 😜

Don't be? It's for a country that does this:

The Journal of Economic Literature often provides coherent and consistent summaries for advanced classes or to read up on stuff. So looking there would be one of my first stops for an intro to a new topic and not the original text.
