For whatever this is worth, a local San Francisco sports talk radio program (@49ersSportsTalk on X) says the Dolphins, Rams, and Panthers are expected to be in on Dre Greenlaw.

I mention Miami's lack of run diversity. This is measurable. They rank 29th in % of runs between the tackles, and they rank 24th in absolute man-zone balance. Put them together and they rank 30th in run diversity. Which is probably why they're the most prone to getting hit with zero/lost yardage.

Would be odd for Darrell Bevell to reunite with the Head Coach who fired him but a promotion is a promotion, so who knows. Guessing Chandler Henley would get promoted to QB Coach and I wonder if McDaniel would try and hire Bobby Slowik as a passing game coordinator.

This is embarrassing safety work here. Even if there was a miscommunication over whether Ramsey should maintain man coverage, which appears to be the issue, you turn around to start yelling at Ramsey DURING THE PLAY??? That’s pee wee ball stuff.

Tyler Huntley as Miami’s official QB2 for the remainder of the season, able to come in and out of the game without restriction?

This should be a no brainer.

What was it that Miami’s TE Coach Jon Embree said? If the shoe fits, wear it?

These safeties on this TD run…not a good look.

I appreciate BlueSky for giving some Dolphins fans a fun refuge from the chaos of X. But I suppose the OnlyFins discord server has been doing that for years lol.

Feel free to join. It’s only $3 a month.

Dolphins are the worst short yardage (3rd & 1 or 4th & 1) offense in the NFL from 2022 to 2024. What I find most perplexing about it is the fact that the LA Rams are the best over the same period. Sean McVay and Mike McDaniel are both Shanahan disciples.

For the broad NFL, 3rd year players dominate and the drop-off in snaps share starts around the 8th year.

Miami leads the NFL in snaps share for 8th+ year veterans. You can see just how much work they have to do in the off season. They're only gonna get a year older, not a year better.

Is that an emoji? I see this all the time on bsky and it looks like nonsense.

If you're wondering why Miami's defense shrank in bitter cold Green Bay on a Thursday after just playing Sunday, this is why. Miami's defense is not only the oldest, most experienced in the NFL, it is one of the most lopsidedly veteran-dependent defenses when it comes to positive PFF grades.

I tend to think something might have been worked out if things had been more cooperative, but the fact nobody in Miami heard a thing from Barrett until he filed papers led to this outcome.

Patriots dared Miami to run their offense closer to what they did in 2022-23. Tua Tagovailoa obliged all too easily.

But Green Bay may do the same thing, hoping to find a few tells on the NE film that help them cheat a few of Miami's play calls.

Did Tua forget how to throw vertically? Clearly not.

H/T @bshousejr.bsky.social for this one!

This is some ridiculous bend on Chop Robinson. No, he didn't fall down on this play. He met Ogbah & Sieler at the QB.
November 25, 2024 at 4:29 PM
Is this good? It seems good.

You hear @diannarussini.bsky.social report that the Jets are likely to put Aaron Rodgers on IR or perhaps even cut him, and then you remember who his backup is that the Dolphins will likely have to face in 2 of their last 7 games.

Oh damn

This one got me on Good Morning Football back when Kay Adams was on.

Throwback to nearly 20 years ago when Nick Saban unleashed Jason Taylor on Tom Brady, letting him play a 1960’s Michigan State “Monster Man” position, floating around the defensive front calling his own pass rush positions based on instinct. Chop Robinson one day? Probably not. But fun to imagine.

Situation was 2nd & 11 with 3:28 left, up 24-19, Raiders taking timeouts so they could get the ball back and try to win the game. McDaniel explains to Tua he’s gonna risk a pass call instead of a run, so he’d better get a completion to keep the clock running. Tua rewarded him with a big TD throw.
November 18, 2024 at 10:52 PM
Two things.

1) Why NOT throw the ball to Jonnu there, though? You got exactly what you wanted on the play, a TE w/ 2+ inch height advantage running a slot fade with free access vs. a guy who started w/ inside leverage.

2) Hold the ball indefinitely vs. a pressure 6 look?
November 18, 2024 at 6:44 PM
I think we all get a little sensitive about these end zone jump balls but give Tua some credit, this was literally the only option that could have worked here.
November 18, 2024 at 6:28 PM
They also refuse to pay attention to circumstances. For the first four games of the season they used Chop like a de facto run specialist, which was so bizarre.
