Well, my grandmother and aunt's house burned to the ground.
My grandma's safe, barely, but after battles with cancer - what little they had is basically gone.
It's hard financial times for everyone, but my family set up a crowdfund just for clothes, shoes, and necessities.

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.
I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

people who use goodreads: jeff bezos owns goodreads and if you want a better alternative there is a black woman owned company called storygraph that you can use to replace it. you can transfer all of your data from goodreads to storygraph and have your mind be free of trumpie jeff bezos! win win. 💙

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore."
I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT.
