At the top of Byers Building on Pearl St, Theater District, is a ghost sign encouraging people to “see Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures.” The building was owned by James Byers & Sons, a film distribution company, then by MGM, then by Saturn Jewelry Co. Vacant for decades, sold 2023 for redevelopment

The Genesee Picture Frame Company (est 1902) is a classic not quite ghost sign that everyone knows and gets touched up every so often. The business is still there w/ diff name. This pic is from a few years ago. Unfortunately there’s a big ugly electric sign underneath it now that detracts from it.

Exterior of Kleinhans Music Hall designed by Saarinens, 1938-40. Funded by both private funds & PWA money. Lots of curves, texture, clean lines - the brick captures light beautifully. RFK & MLK JR have both spoken here.

i’m gonna start a new Buffalo ghost signs thread here. i spotted this new to me one where they’re doing some construction on Oak St. The building next door that covered/protected this sign was demolished sometime in the last year or so revealing the ghost sign
