All Bessent did was re-iterate old news as 'new' news. Bessent's "new" Accord announcement was actually announced in 2023, I already showed you the link.

You asked about the Civic, but it's already been produced in Indiana right now.

So my original statement holds. Is Bessant lying or ignorant?

No need to wait. In 2008 they produced the Civic. In 2021 they produced the Civic hatchback.

No, but the cost to the economy and US citizens for what seems to be a retrofit (the factory's max output is 250K vehicles), and only 2700 workers since 2021 seems like it wasn't worth it.

Bessent made it sound like they were going to build a new factory. That isn't the case and is misleading

The importer pays the tariff, not the exporter. China isn't paying, we are. Plus there are counter tariffs to consider.

Honda has had a factory in Indiana since 2008. It is just adding the Accord to the list now. It has produced over 2 million vehicles since 2008.
