I want to look at this and think “ooh, Pretty! Glittery! Yay! Look what I have accomplished!” But mostly what see are the errors and what I should fix. So let’s play a game - spot the damage.

Tired of cutwork yet? 😎 I see some places to fix, but need to add in ss-ing next so it will have to wait.

A thistle leaf in progress. I may redo the left end of the cutwork as the right end seems to be melding better. It’s always a struggle to stick to the brief (2cm of rough purls) when trying to be creative! Also, how annoying to have a nicely flat section of rough purl bunch up as more go in 😫🧶🪡

If you had to choose which pattern looks more ‘thistley’, what would you say?

Ignoring the news, and working on my next module for the Royal School of Needlework - couching combination goldwork with a diamond pattern, aiming to simulate a thistle. 🧶🪡
