Phone based navigation contributes to this kind of behavior, it will route you on secondary streets during traffic. Not sure what the solution is.

I was there in March and it’s definitely better! buuut central is still crazy cars, they need to keep working at it. London is massive so easy to move the statistics needle with one borough improving things.

yea, the balance between what the language safeguards and how much that gets in the way needs to align with what developers will use, Rust seems to be successful here. We’ve had safer languages than C/C++ in the past they just never had the popularity (and probably caught up in proprietary tooling)

The company they acquired for recommendations originally had two major approaches, one was modeling the music samples and one was scouring the internet for social/media cross references etc. so, makes sense.

yea, most code is written by developers without a ton of experience and most with a lot of experience stop coding. (Obviously exceptions)

Right, the job of a developer is to manage state correctly. The postmortem said there are two versions of the proxy, an old one (appears to be Lua and C) and a new Rust one. The old one was working perfectly, it’s all the clients on the new one which were affected.
