In 2019, Hong Kong’s ban on face masks during protests was dismissed as excessive. By 2020, the national security law criminalized dissent entirely. Rights erode fast when left undefended.

We used to be shocked by this. Now Israel has normalised it with Western arms and political cover. We can no longer call out Russian war crimes without being hypocrites.

Equally I hope the law will catch up with British politicians who continue to support Israel's genocide. At least I hope they will be publicly shamed.

I hope Biden will have his day in court and not die before he gets his turn. There are good reasons not to elect presidents whose days are numbered and this is a big one. Trump also may feel he has nothing to lose.

You don't need to be a lawyer to realise that politicians who enable Israel to continue its crimes will implicate themselves when Israel has been found guilty in the courts.
