At #RCGP25 - inspired by plenary about #kindness in health care. Mum's GP did all this when mum was dying. Not sure my family have experienced any of this in the last few years. 😢

All this talk of the Rapture reminded me of this 1956 social psychology classic: When Prophecy Fails by Festinger, Riecken and Schachter.

Their 5 conditions /reasons why people hold onto beliefs also seem helpful for our current times .... 1/2

"The art of all truly great national leaders at all times consists in not dividing the attention of a people but in concentrating it upon a single foe." Adolf Hitler 1925.
The Farage (& Trump's) playbook is 'Look "small boats" "migrants"!'
Some of us have read the history. We know how this ends.

OMG this is indeed such fun. I had a go with 'never ice a tea towel' and feel that we now need some kind of public safety campaign...

Horrified by the UK supreme court decision on biological sex. Sending morning hugs to my trans family, and will be singing a lot of Grace Petrie and being quite angry...

Taking comfort from small things. Here's a flag. It's the one that reminds me that inclusion means LGB & T & Q & + are welcome here.
So today I'll keep working on #diversity #equality and #inclusion and hope that my colleagues in the US can somehow keep this flag flying in these dark days.

Yes. Also read Paul Danahar's book the new middle east. Written in 2013. Prescient analysis, joining the dots and reminding us of important history that we should have been taught in school.

I saw her 'nightmare' /Mareritt yesterday. It is disturbing, provoking and magical... (not my greatest photo, sorry). I stared at it for ages figuring out that the rat creatures had eaten the people's hands...and heads...
