Then again, I plan to read Mein Kampf at some point so I’ll better understand how people become drawn into such radical, cultish thinking processes when economic conditions are poor. I fall into the “study the enemy” camp.

For me, it depends on the reason the person is reading the book. I sometimes read books from the “other side” to reassure myself of the soundness of my own logic by challenging it with long-form opposing arguments. I read all of Ayn Rand’s books at some point for this very reason.
