I think Americans have to understand things won't go back to normal and no one is coming to save us. The self destructive decision to vote for Trump is going to cause long term pain, damage and weakness. We have to survive and try to rebuild something better. Generational effort sadly.

43% of social welfare recipients are White. 11 of the top 12 most dependent states are red states.

Alaska is the most dependent on federal aid while California (49) and New Jersey (50) are least dependent, contributing far more than they receive.

Mexico and Canada just gave a masterclass in handling Trump: let him brag, give him a face-saving win, and walk away having conceded nothing. The Big Picture unpacks how this strategy could keep him in check on the world stage.

O.M.G!!!! Can't believe what King Donald is saying right now! The investigation into the helicopter/plane crash has just started. How can he blame diversity for causing it. Going to turn off my TV before I damage it.

May I suggest something radical? Have mercy on people. Even on here.

What’s happening is unprecedented, so politicians, journalists, public servants etc are doing their best to adjust. Not doing exactly what you think they should doesn’t mean they’re giving up or giving in.

Last night, Trump ordered a halt to all federal grant funding—taking money out of the pockets of families for essential food, housing, and disaster recovery assistance.

Why?

Because Trump's loyalty to his billionaire base must always come at the expense of the American people.

Since the Supreme Court gave Trump broad immunity, what can be done to stop his executive orders that break laws passed by Congress? Is our country just screwed?

The myth of Trump is that everything is a deal, writes @timothypmurphy.bsky.social. But that implies mutual consent.

The truth is that with Trump, nothing is a deal. It's a hostage negotiation.

Just consider his handling of one of the government’s core duties—relief after natural disasters.
