It sounds like the ending for "Thank You For Smoking"

It was wonderful! I saw the show yesterday evening and absolutely loved it! I did know what I was walking into though.

People trash this movie all the time, but sadly I always feel the movie (and performances) are relevant.

My favorite Williams play. I'm so glad I wasn't horribly butchered like some of his other adaptations.

Yet I sadly feel it's the best of his trilogy.

Understood. A lot of minor points were heavily featured and major points were pretty much erased.

It's based on Halloween Party. One of the lesser read Poirot books.

Maybe because I read the book I mentally just know it's an adaptation. The atmosphere actually is better than the book even if the story veers so far away from it. Also, the killer is, mostly, true to the book.

It's my favorite of his trilogy. I became more involved with the characters than I expected to. Is it great? No. However, I will say I believe it's a batter adaptation than the previous two which, I felt, gutted the books of the underlying tension in order to be more provocative.

I love that Reed is in there. I think she's criminally underrated for that performance.

I know in in the minority here, but this is one of my all-time favorites.

I rewatched this last year. Still an understated and underrated performance and movie.

That's a valid point of view.

I can't remember reading a scathing review (to this extent) from you. It's definitely dated & the pacing is odd. I watch it once a decade to remind myself of the tamer side of Bette Davis.

Release year. How can you celebrate the best of 2025 if we haven't yet had a 2025 to celebrate?

Unlike a lot of people I really like her win. I can't wait to watch this!
