I follow a simple dress code, no garish colours, but also no jeans. Made peace with sneakers tho this year.
Main thing: Don't like rings or chains on myself, or fogged-up glasses. Or wearing them under a cap.

I'm often surprised how many views & habits have cynical roots, including mine (not Gen Z).
There's a negativity & hardened self-irony to it, maybe because - in the age of permanent self-marketing & -assessment - we know too well when we pick the lesser evil, walk the path of least resistance, etc.

My guess: One day some expert sociologists agreed that people in power are better off with too busy citizens than with them having time for leisure, thought & sensitivities.
They praised the potential of the creative output, and quickly whole industries were build to steal time & exploit creativity.
