4/4 - there was no point to sticking together on the shutdown for as long as they did if the end goal was to produce nothing at all. It was a waste of time, waste of ink.
Hakeem Jeffries gave an amazing news conference after the fact outlining Dems priorities. Schumer failed that repeatedly

3/? why keep fighting? They were winning the messaging. They were winning public opinion. The country had just demonstrated their discontent a few days earlier. Then they folded.
They didn't win a single real concession. Meaning next time the admin knows it can just wait for dems to break

2/? nation wide attention since it was to affect so many. Once it's back to regular debate, there are going to be far fewer tuning in. Right wing will resume getting their news from their media without any sound bites from Dems.
Critical services are important, I agree.

1/? Hi. It's going to be tough to cram all my thoughts into 540 characters, but I'll try. I'll follow with a blog entry later and tag you.
Yes, swearing in Grajilvas is great news. None of the Dems that broke from the pack cited that though.
The shutdown was the Dems bully pulpit. That had nation

Of course I’m madder at the gOP. But they’re not here to represent us. That would be the democrats.
Not every democrat failed us, but 7 or 8 did. And it was utterly unacceptable. If Schumer had any guts at all he’d censure them and remove them from any committees

The deal is horrendous. It’s not a deal. It’s complete capitulation and surrender.
So yes. It is as bad as we think
I can’t scroll through your comment on the app so I can’t respond to your other points.
But I don’t have a cat to pet

This guy, like every other ice agent, is a coward hiding behind a mask. I hope their reckoning comes in 3 years and 2 months.

Well considering the 24 hours of his time to end the war in Ukraine is now 10 months of our time…

These guys in masks are so ashamed of even their friends finding out what they do that glitter can be their undoing.

How does that work? His successor already being lined up? I’ve never heard that before, though I admit not knowing all the arcane mechanics of government

Well you can’t vote all them out. Not how it works.

remind them that country ran fine back when the top tax bracket was 90%. We weren’t a “socialist”country then. But what happened was that there was little reason to pay executives astronomical amounts if they only kept 10%. So it went to employees instead and people could afford some on one income.

Nothing against them, but I don’t want small talk “hey how’s your day going” from strangers that are required by corporate to pretend to be interested
Drop the policy, let me shop how I want to, and if I need help I’ll look for a red shirt

Not they’re not working to find the money. It’s far more sinister than that. They’re actively going to court to fight judicial orders requiring them to make these payments.
There’s money out there. They have no problem using tariff $$$ to pay some people. But not #SNAP

They’re afraid of being identified because they’re enforcing policies that the public detests. Seems like the laws and policies themselves should be voted on now that American public is fully aware what they entail.
