You’re ignoring my point that I’m paying more money in tax than I get in rebates. And taxing doesn’t increase inflation, it reduces purchasing power and demand.

Try $70 per month on my Enbridge gas bill - eats through the $300 in a few months. That’s also ignoring gasoline as well as transport for goods that you then pay more on. You don’t think Walmart isn’t passing on the increased delivery costs to the consumer?

I definitely paid more in gas tax on my gas bills alone than the $300 rebate. And 1% in C02 emissions reduction could be due to anything; advancing tech, more green energy, etc. Not, mind you, solely because of the tax.

Increase reservoir and pumping capacity, put in a few high capacity standby pumps for emergencies, make sure you actually maintain your hydrants and that all your water mains are properly sized. Won’t cost that much more, and frankly could be taken out of any other budget
