'Bow to Trump' is a very silly headline. Implies reluctantly agreeing to contribute to cooperative alliance. 'Recognise Trump is a strategic threat, no longer to be relied on to defend against Russia...' is as much a part of it.
The really, really nauseating line: when countries like Lithuania increase their defense spending because they're on the Russian front line, some wiseguy in the media will explain this as "bowing to Trump". Back to journalism school maybe?

This is a very good point. There was isolationist [low immigration, protectionist, interventionist] Brexit and there was buccaneering free trade, deregulation Brexit. Both could not be agreed on and sold at the same time.
