whatever else republican house speaker mike johnson (and the congressional republicans who serve under him) ever do in this life, this headline will last forever and ever, for their whole blessed lives.

American statements in the Oval Office indistinguishable from Russian propaganda and celebrated by Russian propagandists.
Russia's response to Trump's tantrum says it all really:

I cannot even express the disgust i feel. For anyone who didn't vote for Harris because of a protest vote for Gaza, congratulations. Trump announced a policy of taking over Gaza, sending Palestinians out to whoever will take them, turn it into the Riviera of the middle east. Evil.

We desperately, urgently need a media that isn’t afraid to name this as the evisceration of the federal government. That is what is going on. We cannot only be comfortable using such language when the situation is far away in time or space. It’s happening here. We need to be clear.

Elon Musk says we should allow more WHITE South Africans to emigrate to the US. Not South Africans of any other race - specifically WHITE South Africans only.

Humpty Dumpty: “When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
Alice: “The question is whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
Humpty Dumpty: “The question is which is to be master—that’s all.”

I'm not saying this is a coup. But if you *were* going to do a coup, how would things look different from recent events -- seizing the federal payments system, federal purging law enforcement, threatening to sic armed US Marshals on civil servants guarding classified data
Musk's cronies tried to to gain access to classified USAID data. USAID Director of Security John Voorhees security said no. The Musk people threatened to call in the US Marshals and take the data at gunpoint. They still said no.

Here we go. How to start priming the people to accept dismantling the constitution to allow Trump to continue his rule. Step 1 to dictatorship. Next they will say a new president can be appointed by the sitting president.

Trump hated TikTok (because China) until it helped him win an election (as even he acknowledges) and now he’s going to save it and take a victory lap. So he’ll have X, TikTok, Insta, and Facebook all working on his behalf. That’s a big difference between now and 2017.

For all those planning not to watch the inauguration, leave on your TVs but turned to another channel. This will help lower the Neilson ratings more tham just not watching. He hates low ratings!

There is nothing more insane than Mike Johnson - from the state of LOUISIANA - setting the precedent of conditioning disaster relief on political concessions.
