Not just here. Look at the entrance to Piedras Negras vs Eagle pass, just across the Rio Grande from each other.
Piedras Negras opens to large welcoming plaza. Though you cannot see it in this photo, there is beautiful park at the entrance with wonderful art. Eagle Pass has a lovely painted Eagle sculpture. However, it is right next to fencing and barbed wire. A non-descript bridge rife with security marks the entrance to the US. There is zero security on the Mexico side.
