They could very well be. I didn't purchase the updated kit and its sometimes difficult to discern details on the webstore sprue, but the bases/stands strike me as slightly different.

Indeed. the Old World price points are very competitive. That adjustment is actually interesting when you compare the prices from those kits that were discontinued and subsequently rereleased. Normally, prices simply go up.
