It's a Texas state law, so *technically* nothing to do with Trump. I'm sure he'd love it, but it's just run of the mill Texas oppression, not the orange kind.

It is/was inevitable. You can't have a safe city in an unsafe state. It can buffer you a little, but it can never fully protect you.

Unfortunately, I don't think people realize that "no criminal record" is nearly impossible. If you can't legally get a license then you can't drive to work, to a job you also can't legally have. There needs to be nuance between forced criminality of undocumented existence and willful violent crime

I have hope and also fear. Companies like @textio.com are trying to use AI for good, and it's an interesting concept to find justice in pitting AI against itself XD That was a really interesting article, thank you.

Does covert government effort = regular marketing? Because even if she was, that would just be like... campaigning and marketing. There's nothing all that scandalous about either of those concepts

Do you mind sharing how you found them? My partner is in this situation and is terrified to step through the door for the first time. I'm less so, but I haven't been in a LONG time because of trauma.

When in doubt, get a drs note that lists your meds and their dosages and states that it's necessary to your health to have these meds with you. That will work in most situations (but make sure if you're going to a non english speaking country, you get that document translated)

Anecdotally, I'd guess that more abusive marriages are dissolved no-fault than ever are for abuse grounds. This is SO awful to advocate for. Leaving is dangerous enough, conditioning leaving on leveling accusations that will most likely cause escalation is irresponsible.

They were banned because they gave women unrealistic expectations of men having emotional depth and consideration toward their partner. It was even framed that way - porn shows beautiful women wives can't live up to, romance novels show caring men husbands can't live up to.
