all the cities are under glass domes-- the outside is effectively unlivable. it's something of a post-apocalyptic setting, but we don't really go into that part of things until later books, as well.

actually, we follow the same group of characters into other cities 😂 but yes, the series is not just about the main couple getting together, but eventually them dealing with the obstacles around them so they can BE together for good.

thank you! the first book definitely leans more into the romance and the speculative world is somewhat of an obstacle to it, so to speak. but i do hope to delve deeper into the intrigue and politics of the world itself later in the series.
