That’s the joy of rescue dogs: they rescue you too. Ours was a wonderful boy and I miss him still. Ruby looks fabulous, and treasured.

Just had bookshelves built into our new living room that used to be a garage, and my wife and I are filling them with the books that were double-shelved in the rest of the house. It’s a joyful experience.

First post here so I thought I’d just show you a sketch I made in Lucca. Piazza dell’anfiteatro was once a Roman amphitheatre; during the Middle Ages the structure was infilled with private dwellings and people still live in them. I love the mix of broken stone structure with patched brick infill.
