At Bloomberg, an experiment with A.I. to generate news article summaries has resulted in dozens of corrections. A note appended to one, an Aug. 1 article about Switzerland’s reaction to President Trump’s tariffs, said: “A faulty A.I. summary was removed for misrepresenting surplus as a deficit.” And the publication removed a summary on a Sept. 22 feature about private equity because it had misattributed a quote. Bloomberg has said that 99 percent of A.I. summaries met the outlet’s editorial standards

People dunking on the bad NYT headline are missing out on the article itself, which features a diverse set of viewpoints ranging from "feminism is bad" to "feminism is bad."
Ross Douthat: Men and women are different. That is a core premise of conservatism in the age of Trump, that liberalism and feminism have come to grief by pretending that the sexes are the same. But what does that difference really mean? Should the right be trying to roll back the entire feminist era? Or is there a form of conservative feminism that corrects liberalism’s mistakes? My guests this week, Helen Andrews and Leah Libresco Sargeant, are both conservative writers, both critics of feminism, but they have very different views of what a right-wing politics of gender should look like.

A draft policy paper called for robust incentives to induce heterosexual married couples to have more children. Subsequent drafts suggested awarding straight married couples an additional “half vote” in federal elections for each of their children, according to people involved.

The swamp was full of thin filamentous ice this morning, something I've never seen before. Apparently called "hair ice," only forms on rotting wood under narrow temp/humidity conditions, in the presence of a certain species of fungus! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_ice

They finally did some polling on Trump's demolition of the East Wing and you're not gonna believe this but everyone hates it. www.cnn.com/2025/10/29/p...
It shows Americans disapproved of Trump’s demolition of the East Wing (57%-26%), his plans for replacing it with a 90,000-square foot ballroom (61%-25%) and his broader handling of the situation (55%-28%) all by around a 2-to-1 margin.

One weird thing about Platner's sudden elevation to national prominence is that he was featured in a NYT travel story about Maine's oyster trail *six weeks before* his campaign announcement and the accompanying NYT feature. No mention of his political aspirations www.nytimes.com/2025/07/04/t...
