It’s a forgiving recipe. Measurements don’t have to be exact. You can add 1-2 tspns flour to the filling to help it bind. The pie’s done when filling is set in the center. Watch after about 15 minutes to make sure the edges aren’t beginning to burn; you can cover some or all of it to prevent that

Lots of good recipes out there; usually start like this — stir together 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup corn syrup, 3 beaten eggs, 3 tbsp of brown sugar, 0.5 tspn salt, 1 tspn vanilla. Coarsely chop 1.5 cup pecans. Put pecans into prepared pie crust. Pour syrup mixture over it. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.

Hugs Jeb. I’m sorry they behave that way. If you set a boundary & they won’t respect it, I agree you don’t need to explain. You could say, “I know you mean well, but please don’t make this request again. If you do, I will end the conversation.” But that can require more energy than it’s worth…sigh.
