I live-skeet film and TV. SPOILERS AHEAD

NOW WATCHING: Andor (Season I)
Now that I have rambled and rambled on my feelings of Disney's Star Wars takeover, we can get to the show I'm about to re-watch: Andor Season I! Season II has been out for months now and I STILL haven't gotten around to it. Not because I resent Disney... Shame on me! But better late than never!

Acolyte... Oh, Acolyte. This show I went into thinking, "Okay this is High Republic era, so it can fit into the EU for me!" And then a fully adult Ki Adi Mundi shows up 🥴 Idk how you fuck up a witches coven where they don't need semen to reproduce but I don't think I'll be doing a rewatch...

Ahsoka, I was able to follow even without watching Rebels. It was hard to see Disney's Thrawn compared to EU Thrawn, and I was so sad the first time we saw him wasn't on the big screen. Having someone be a Mandalorian but also a Jedi seemed... Not great. But it's a good show nonetheless!

The Book of Boba Fett will always, always hold a place in my heart for putting Temuera Morrison into the armor. While it didn't do a great job of showing him to be a fierce strategist like the EU, and turning into just another season of The Mandalorian wasn't great. But I still love it.

Before Boba Fett appears in The Mandalorian, Disney claimed that he was never a Mandalorian. (Imagine calling the OG a fake??? couldn't be me) Luckily, Boba Fett confirms he is in fact a Mandalorian and this moment was proof to me that some problems DO just magically go away if you ignore them!

I actually really, really loved Kenobi: Expecting a Luke story and getting Leia instead was *chef's kiss*! Her scenes become believable when you remember her Space Jesus moment in the ST. The Mandalorian was obviously amazing, one of my favorites. I had been into Mandalorian culture beforehand!

Clone Wars is great. Rebels, I literally cannot get past the terrible character design and subpar character and technical animation. Bad Batch I couldn't do because, if I can't envision Temuera Morrison as a live-action version of a clone, is it really a clone? Even an altered one?

Sometimes they DO bring in stuff from EU! But taking everything away just to sprinkle stuff in is... not a good look. But again, this is all regarding a fake universe. I just now mostly follow the fake part of the fake universe! Double-Fake

In a decade, Disney Canon has managed to create more confusion and inconsistencies than decades of Extended Universe. This lends to the theory that Lucas gets a percentage every time they use his characters, hence the leaning away from EU and trying to create something new.

Which was tough! Because thanks to my step-father, I had been to every Star Wars film opening weekend that I had been alive for. I saw IX the second weekend, and watching it felt like getting closure from an "abusive" ex. This was what Disney threw EU away for! And it wasn't for me.

I got tickets to the premier, but Episode VII was tough to watch. The scene with Han Solo's death felt symbolic to me: This is no longer the old Star Wars. This is a new thing. Rogue One literally blew me away! But Solo would be the last Star Wars film I saw opening weekend, in "protest"...

At the start of the new Disney Canon, it was expressed that they would still draw from "Legacy". And then after VIII, Kathleen defensively claimed there was no material to go off of for this new sequel Trilogy. That was... not great to hear, and make a lot of [EU] fans upset. I wasn't happy, too!

I fell into a sort of "Star Wars Depression" when Disney announced they'd be scrapping EU in favor of a new, cohesive canon where everyone can be on the same page. The re-labeling of EU to "Legacy" and basically erasing my childhood wasn't, and still isn't, fun. BUT it's all fake! So no worries

Here, I document cinematic moments that shape stories as I experience them (unedited). Framing, Lighting, Acting, Costume, Dialogue, Sound. Raw details and reactions, captured in real time. After the credits roll, I will share my feelings on Gestalt (composed)
