pop culture and politics. fuck trump and anyone else in the asshole criminals-in-charge club.
I’m EXTRA angry when otherwise reasonable people reveal their apathy by acting like everything is fine. I’m on the verge of cutting someone off even tho I otherwise enjoy them because they’ve lately revealed they’re not willing to choose a side or make a stand. Fuck em.

I’ll definitely finish it, it just feels like there is a better way to structure the story rather than constantly skipping chunks of time over and over instead of getting to know these guys & their lives apart. Felt like a recap but w the sex scenes left in. Great casting tho.

it's probably because the script literally skips over any opportunity for character growth, relationship development, even actual stakes aside from some random news announce VO filling us in on what should be the main narrative. Yay queer love & sex! 😘 but meh storytelling. i've stalled after ep 3

2) a better than expected showing for Eva Victor and SORRY, BABY. I think there's some love lingering out there a la Celine Song's PAST LIVES except Eva might sneak in as actress too.

oh my god now they're in dune. i completely forgot dana fox worked on the script, noooo wonder it was peak mediocrity. too bad nathan crowley's designs were slathered in so much cgi they looked terrible, i bet he's got some cool drawings. a marc platt production, it certainly was!

the last 50 minutes of this movie is like 3 people wandering around a virtual set. this is genuinely jaw-droppingly terrible filmmaking. AND HOLY SHIT BAD YOUNG CGI JEFF GOLDBLUM MY EYES. the stress of another terrible oscar-qualifying song potentially popping up in the credits is stressing me out

how can either of them be "changed for the better" when the only thing happening here is the narrative dropping off a cliff? what about everything she's been fighting for the last 20 hours? standing on opposite sides of the doors weeping like they've been thru something profound. yall failed.
January 21, 2026 at 6:32 AM
this is exactly what I'm talking about by exacerbating rather than fixing issues. the finale sorrrt of works on stage because we're a skipping stone across the narrative, but by amping up elphie's activism/anger it's now VERY unrealistic/unreasonable for her to change/abandon positions
January 21, 2026 at 6:32 AM
it's cool girlie, we were friends once 😘
January 21, 2026 at 6:22 AM
utterly fails to earn the emotion of "for good." elphaba goes from being ready to burn down the fucking world to being like "eh, no worries you can't be good without someone being wicked" WHUT HOW IS THAT THE LESSON HERE
January 21, 2026 at 6:19 AM
this girl in the bubble song is gonna haunt grande for the rest of her career. it sounds like the kind of song you'll really be sick of after 20-30 times, much less concerts at her scale. anything for an oscar grab, tho!
January 21, 2026 at 6:12 AM
does the broom fly? can she fly? or is she weirdly leaping through the air? the kind of new song that would've helped this would be something expanding the Ozians' experience that interweaved Dorothy's trip to the wizard, deepening the "mythology" of the water so we all believe it
January 21, 2026 at 6:12 AM
very similar issues as the unwatchable phantom adaptation - it fixes ZERO of the show's logic or narrative problems and instead just adds to them. it wasted so much time in part 1 yet the narrative is clunky as fuck. now she's in some hellraiser looking room instead of flying around to find fyero
January 21, 2026 at 6:12 AM
don't even get me started on that new song "no place like home," or how "as long as your mind" is a teenager's version of horniness (tho i did like the shot where she lifts him). everything is so lifeless they might as well have cast Tilly Norwood.
January 21, 2026 at 5:55 AM
the repetitive behavior (hair flipping), color schemes, shot choices all feel like this awful social-driven era's action figures. elphie has outfits! look at her hair! ooh is that cashmere? BUY THE LOOK. GIF THIS MOVIE. THE FUTURE IS EMPTY.
January 21, 2026 at 5:44 AM
why is the editing SO. BAD. every single shot is too long, responses linger for no reason, it's a movie so disgustingly in love with itself everything is a reprise of a moment without meaning. ariana legit looks stone for half the movie. what is happening here. why is elphie in avatar's tree land?
