Watched the 4K Shin Godzilla re-release over the weekend and it still feels fresh and looked incredible on the big screen. I was quickly reminded why it sits at the top of my favorite Godzilla films, alongside the original Godzilla film and Godzilla Minus One.

Director Abbas Kiarostami is quoted as saying “I prefer the poetry of life to the prose of cinema.” Like poetry, his films are often filled with silences and ambiguous moments that invite question and conversation. #film #directors #poetry cinematicpointofview.com/2025/08/04/m...

Everything about the trailer for "On Falling" looks relatable. Right now, I’m finding a lot of comfort in subtle, character driven films about everyday life. I’m on board. #movies #trailers www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMlB...

I rewatched Hirokazu Koreeda film Broker over the weekend. This is a heartfelt story about abandonment and breaking the cycle. It’s a story about trust and family. Another humanistic masterpiece by one of the modern filmmaking masters.

Patlabor is so underrated. Low key and fun. Beautiful animation. Watching my way through all incarnations. Take in an episode with my coffee before work in the mornings. Only have 3 episodes left to watch on the TV series.

I’m currently watching the new Netflix series Asura, written (and directed?) by Hirokazu Koreeda. It is everything you could hope for in a Koreeda series. I love it.

I also love this opening theme song “Higher.” www.youtube.com/watch?v=X657...
