I’ve lived a long time; it’s all still a mystery to me. Teaching others how to work for social justice, spiritual peace, and a flourishing world. Sociologist and scholar of religion. This is a personal account, you might see cat and garden photos.
Just realized my grand dog has perfect wings on her eye liner. #dogs

The moon through our clerestory window tonight. I often post pictures like this under “me and the moon”. It kind of looks like a blue wave, so I’ll call it “us and the moon” tonight.

How the dog felt about visiting vs. how the cat felt about having a guest for the day.

Last remnants of the fallen star gazer lily. We finally had rain today. Lovely cool night on the deck. The toads and insects are singing their songs.

The rain toppled all but one stem of our stargazer lily plants. Each main stem was over 6 feet tall this year. So, here we are with the fallen flowers. I’m not sad, we needed the rain. #flowers #lily #gardening

First beans. I’ve actually never eaten first beans because I always brought them to my mom. I was having trouble picking them until someone helped me decide that first beans are just plain happy of their own accord. #gardening

These amaryllis blooms are all from a bulb that was gifted to us 20 years ago. We have since gifted so many. Two points: 1) just look at them, 2) alternatively, think about the abundance we have when we pay attention to caring for simple things over time. #gardening #flowers

The moon is a sunlit object, we are too. Take a breath, be in the light if only for a moment’s rest.

One of my silly cardinal photos. We have a nest with a fledgling right outside our window now! Early start, looks like only one hatched.

It was a bad day for our faith in what little we have. I won’t give up hope, but for tonight I will rest in the lovely things right by me. The amaryllis flower is a symbol of strength, resilience, and determination. I will be grateful for this bloom for tonight.

Seriously everybody, watch the puppy bowl. It’s like a big dose of laughter medicine. Whew, I almost forgot what that feels like.

We do construct so much of what is “reality” and then continue to reinforce it in our every day actions. We may feel that it is insurmountable, but we can change our trajectory. We made it this way.
