mildly amused that the duolingo characters will put stickers and keychains of their own faces/likenesses onto their suitcases

there's truly nothing like the serotonin boost (and rollercoaster lbr!) of game 5 in a playoff series that was dramatic & stressful til the very end. being there for all the home final games was incredible. yay liberty! 🥹🗽🐘🏀

latest duolingo wellness check: learning about whaling in italian
a screenshot from italian duolingo. i am asked to translate "a scarf" in italian. there are three possible italian translations for "scarf". one is "sciarpa", one is "incisione longitudinale fatta nel corpo di una balena", and the third is "ammorsatura". because of the length of the second translation, the window size is much wider than usual a screenshot from google translate shows that "incisions longitudinale fatta nel corpo di una balena" means "longitudinal incision made in the body of a whale" in italian

merry holidays. i made some things
a not yet cooked eggplant parmesan in a 13x9 pan. there are fresh basil leaves atop a layer of cheese atop more layers of eggplant and cheese and marinara two sheet pans with small balls of matcha latte cookie dough spread apart, ready to bake i am standing behind a dinner table. there is an arrangement of mint green bowls and plates with food. this includes gochujang butter pasta, matcha latte cookies iced with thick ermine frosting, a gingerbread blondie in a round cake pan, and the fully baked eggplant parm. i am wearing a black long sleeve crop top, an acrylic laser cut necklace that says OOOOOHHHH, and dark green velour pants a slightly aerial view of the matcha latte cookies on a mint green plate. they are green like the grinch, and each cookie has a thick dollop of white ermine frosting, which is also known as boiled milk frosting but that's the worst name ever!!! there is a helping of clear white sprinkles on top of the frosting
