Will they or won't they snog? That is the question.
Review on @uk.broadwayworld.com embargoed until 00:01 on 3rd September 🎭🦷

Not usually one to complain, but we experienced some appalling behaviour by the @donmarwarehouse.bsky.social FOH tonight.

I recently wrote this piece starnow.com/uk/magazine/ar… about starting out in the industry. It turns out @stratfordeast.com also has a youth scheme that you can join if you live in Newham!

Did something different last night and went to my first k-pop concert! Though I have a BTS superfan as a bestie I wasn't entirely familiar with their game. Five stars from me for Jin, no notes whatsoever. I didn't know any songs but had such a good time! #RUNSEOKJIN_epTOUR_UK

A repeat visit to Sing Street? It must be good! (Here's my ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review from a few weeks back www.broadwayworld.com/westend/arti...)

Here we go again. Did I con myself into buying merch? Maybe.

Visit one of two this week (very random coincidence, even though I *finally* physically started writing my dissertation after a month of straight research).

Different crowd today. Stiff and unresponsive.

What a joy to receive this 10th anniversary edition early from @portybooks.bsky.social.

Why are we ruining live theatre?

Very interesting excerpt from a 2013 study by Niall Caldwell and Kathryn Nicholson about celebrity casting in the West End. Safe to say that things have exploded since then. (Can you tell I'm back to writing essays?!)

Back to it after a few days off ☀️

LOOOOOVED @anyaryan.bsky.social's latest for @exeuntmagazine.bsky.social! "'How could my words have made someone feel so terrible?' The agony of bad reviews when you're a critic - and also a born people-pleaser." Felt it in my soul (though I nor anyone in my life would consider me a people pleaser).

Nipped to Stratford-upon-Avon, and what a day for it.

I was at the world premiere of Austenland the musical last night. It wasn't up for review, a decision that I understood two numbers in. I just don't think the show is ready for a paying audience, not even in concert form. And those questions won't cover the notes they need.

Thrilling news!!! Something Rotten! will finally have its UK premiere next year!
March 20, 2025 at 12:06 PM
Alright then. Let's see if you're all wrong.

Adolescence is the perfect slap in the face. Terrifying. So well written and directed. Finger on the pulse type of stuff. I can't even imagine what it must feel like to watch it as a parent.

I forgot my pen today but the RSC gift shop came through.

Another rant from me!
There are no "sirs" here, so your email goes straight into the bin.
I'll never stop banging on about this - address the invite to the person you're emailing, you know their name. This won't get me into your show, esp when I can see you're not just starting out. Unfair? Maybe.

Oh hello. Go see Kyoto!!!
February 20, 2025 at 8:56 PM
This has been recommended to me endlessly since Edinburgh last year. I have listened and I am here.

I rarely leave my house on weekends, but you know I'll be there if a press matinee is on the table. Reviews are embargoed until late on Tuesday, so I have to keep my mouth shut until then (which is a very difficult task if you're as overly opinionated as I am).

I wouldn't say it was "shitty" in The Black Dog, but Taylor didn't miss anything.
