tbh it's been every single government since the early 90's who've adopted the same attitude. We've done bugger all to cut actual fossil fuel emissions.

20% of a tonne of fossil carbon will still be in the atmosphere in 10,000 years. A tree absorbs carbon for 100 years.

yeah, but the VAST majority of the gas in Australia is exported. Domestic use is absolutely tiny compared with the exports.
