It is #sodpiper season in #Ontario - American Golden Plovers (1) and Buff-breasted Sandpipers (2) are incredible long-distance migrants. Some AMGP gave a nice show in flight, and 3 (!) BBSP gave face-melting scope views and showed off some really excellent camouflage. #Birding #Nature #Birds

Three shorebirds from the weekend - Solitary Sandpiper, as well as Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. This is a lovely trifecta of beautiful brown shorebirds with eyerings. It was delightful to see all three at the same time as they were revelling in a flooded field. #birds #birding #shorebirds #tringa

Here are two myrmecophilous Dischidia that are growing nicely at the moment - Nice blooms from D. platyphilla, a shingling species - and D. pectenoides produces lovely bullate leaves (w/ nice mauve highlights!) that would host ants in the wild.
