It’s validating to hear you call it like it is.

I think your most strategic audience are those you already have. And they need hope as watching good people following protocol while others do not is hard. What is the peaceful protest version of how you show up. Maybe you all do not show up at all.

Actually if you look at policy level you will see they focus on support for the mass constituency. It’s why they fight for food stamp programs, funding for consumer advocacy groups and against more tax cuts for the very wealthy and corporations and for more infrastructure.

Having empathy and compassion are our north stars that guide our actions and plans. It’s the actions and plans I’m hoping is happening with the extra boost from having the smart and credentialed people

I’ve listened to every dear Hank and John pod (don’t be weirded out by that) but am struggling to imagine a very angry Hank. I have my own simmering furious these days but now extra livid at the thought of whatever is the cause

But shouldn’t dems be doing better then? I mean say what we will but the “republicans” seem to have played the long game and strategize a plan that was able to be executed at break neck speed. I can only hope all those “smart” people are catching up and outstratigizing out there 🤞🏼

Seeing it as stupid and goofy would feel a lot better. It seems more menacing and cruel and that is way harder on the soul. Now it could be all of those things of course and thus the 😒 and 😬 and 😭

As a Canadian, never has our physical and cultural proximity to the US seemed so menacing. Canadians also have a hard choice rn

Maybe it’s about the way the “news” from the WH is amplified. Going deeper vs trying to drink from the lying hose. With fact check and context. Journalist will play a critical role in this moment but it will require reinvention of the how with bravery- same as it is for all of us in the moment.

It really does seem like rotating plague and brimstones for the US right now.
