Noticed this with a paper wasp I recently took care of with who had a broken fore wing. I don't have any slow motion video of her buzzing but I do have many videos of her preening and you can see her reduced hind wing movement on that side; the other side as a comparison to what is normal.

A lot of choices but I think I'm in the mood to show off this beautiful platypezid fly, Bertamyia notata, taken in Ohio last year. Wish I could have taken more (and better) pictures of her but she didn't stay very long. The silver parts are iridescent!

I'm trying to get better at actually... going through my photos, so here's a gnat ogre (Holcocephala sp.) with prey from this fall to start me out.
