CIIC PhD student Jialu Wang, from Prof Wenbiao Hu's ECAPH research group, recently contributed to a study investigating the impact of increasingly frequent and extreme environmental events—such as wildfires—on hospitalisation risks from infectious diseases like COVID-19.

CIIC recently welcomed Honours student Jordyn Rudowski. Jordyn recently graduated with a Bachelor of Biomed Science and is undertaking an Honours project under supervision of Professor Tony Kenna to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of camel milk on the human intestinal epithelium.

CIIC Welcomes Dr Yvette Ong to the Centre.
Dr. Yvette Ong recently completed her Ph.D. in Microbiology from UQ and will be working with Prof Greg Cook investigating the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and strategies to counteract the problem of rapidly increasing AMR in bacteria.
